Welcome to my humble abode on the portion of the Internet that calls itself the World Wide Web. I am currently an 18-year-old student at Purdue University playing baritone with Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps of Lexington, KY. Visit my Trombone Page for more information. I am also a dedicated UNIX geek. I currently have experience with Linux,NetBSD, and Solaris.

My geekdom extends to programming. I have at least a working knowledge of C, C++, Java, Ada, FORTRAN, Perl, and Bash script. I am in the process of teaching myself Forth, ALGOL, x86 Assembler, LISP, Smalltalk, and Simula. My current programming project is a newsreader written in C called "KURT" (Kurt's Usenet Reading Tool). It is currently in the very early stages of development, but as it nears the release of v0.1 I will put up a webpage for it. Naturally, I use vim (Vi Improved) for all my programming work.

My favorite Linux distribution is Slackware. I admit to being a bit of a bigot in this regard, but I still have some valid (or at least I think so) arguments against the other major distributions (notably Debian and Red Hat). If you wish, you can read them here.

Finally, if after all this you still find me interesting, you can still find evidence to the contrary. You can also read about my philosophical and political viewpoints, some rants about various technical and non-technical subjects, more bigotry (this time concerning vim), and some pictures of my computers (including the old, old, old 486 that I somehow justified spending a total of $100 in equipment upgrades on in 2000 and 2001). And of course, I also have the obligatory, ever-present links page. Enjoy!
